I started sealing up the inside of the boat. This is in preparation to paint it white. Everything inside is to be painted white except the cedar strip planking. It's a good thing too since it rained last night. When I got home from work I found that there was water in the lower parts.

I decided to cut the hatch to the after compartment that is labeled "optional hatch" on the plans. I need to have access to it to inspect it. Also I plan to stow lifejackets here. The hatch I cut is slightly modified from the plans to have rounded corners and the base is two inches higher than specified. This is a personal preference.
